Eng Zaid Taher is the Co Founder of GAoS, He is an Environmental Risk Expert with over 10 years of multidisciplinary experience spanning the nuclear, sustainability, and emergency preparedness sectors. My career has taken me through diverse roles, including CSR officer, mechanical design engineer, and advisor for government bodies such as the UAE Ministry of Defense. I bring a unique perspective shaped by hands-on experience in radiation safety management, CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) defense, and environmental sustainability.
My current role as the Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Global Ambassadors of Sustainability (GAoS) sees me driving operational excellence and aligning strategic initiatives with global sustainability goals. However, it’s my work as an expert lecturer with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that has allowed me to share critical knowledge in nuclear emergency response with professionals worldwide, further enhancing my expertise.
As a consultant at the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), I was crucial in developing comprehensive environmental emergency plans for Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. My contributions have enhanced the country’s ability to mitigate and respond to environmental threats using best practices from ISO 31000 and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
My academic journey includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering (ABET Accredited) from Jordan University of Science and Technology and an MBA in International Business from the University of the West of Scotland. I’ve also obtained a nuclear reactor operator license and a Dale Carnegie trainer certification, demonstrating my commitment to continuous learning and leadership.
With a passion for advancing environmental sustainability, I am dedicated to driving initiatives that promote corporate social responsibility, risk management, and sustainable development in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I strive to make a meaningful impact by building resilient systems that safeguard people and the planet.
